I help present Church teachings, dogma, etc. as a member of our parish's RCIA Team. The Catechumens and Candidates in these classes know more about our faith at the end of these sessions than the majority of regular Mass attendees. This is primarily because those attending Mass on a regular basis are presented about a 15 - 20 minute homily, which most often has no catechetical faith building/promulgating value. A catechetical lectionary to aid in the development of homilies for our congregations will be a great asset in this secular world (if our priests will use it).

about time!!!!! how can you have 7 masses on sat. vigil and sunday..yet have 3-4 masses on holy days of obligations....priests say nothing....3 points to the current problem..1-conscience......rationalize within themselves that it is not a sin...why have the 10 commandments? 2- liberation theology...end justifies the means to acquire..3-rationalization......rather than following church teachings ...circumvent the teaching's and become a "cafeteria catholic"... BISHOPS are WEAK...no leadership... confessions are lacking...1/2 hour in some parishes...WHY? there are no sins....some priests are lazy....enough!!!!!

I support this initiative wholeheartedly. I have been saying that priests need to catechize from the pulpit for years. If they had, perhaps this country would not be in the mess it is now. Some of the "catholics" in political positions obviously do not know the magesterium and have chosen their own definitions of leading a christian life and expect the rest of us to follow them instead of what Christ taught. How sad when people follow the wrong road!!
