Eph 6:10-17 (NIV) ...Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armour of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled round your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Hosea 4: 6 Says "MY People perish for lack of knowledge" this would help a great deal for so many Catholics and Christians to actually know the real basis of Faith.

It is high time the Church gets back to teaching basic catechism to its members. There are so many so-called Catholics today who hardly know even the basics of their faith. I think a systematic teaching of the catechism based on the principles of the "We Want To Be Taught" would be absolutely fantastic. Many times there are references to Catholic principles or practices in a Sunday scriptural reading and the priest doesn't jump on it. A great example would be Christ instituting the Sacarment of Reconcilation on Mercy Sunday right after Easter. How many times have I sat in Church and the homilist skipt right over the fact that this Gospel reading is the best scriptural basis for the Sacrament of Confession. The opportunity is dropped right into their hands and they dropped the ball completely. No wonder so few Catholics go to Confession.
