Hello, I think this is the best idea ever! Makes total sense! It's hard enough for the laity to connect all the dots, remember the year this or that was written, then having to research the Church's explanation of it . Putting readings in a proper flow and context, and every Catholic all over the world receiving the same teaching is such power in prayer!! Please keep me posted on this initiative. God Bless all of you!

The implementation of the Catechetical Lectionary has everything contained within its powerful simplicity to turn the tide; indeed, to defeat the worldwide culture of death. With one voice, the truths of the faith will again be transmitted to the Universal Church - universally! It is the brick and mortar that Holy Father Francis, God willing, will use to rebuild the Church, to restore priests to their optimal teaching capacity and role as spiritual fathers, and will set the laity on fire with the love and truth of Christ and His Church. In the power of the Holy Spirit, through the intercession of Our Lady, may it be so, as soon as possible. Maranatha!

Thank you and EWTN for bringing this to light. I missed out on a lot of catechesis in Sunday School. My biggest memories were of singing, making crafts and eating cookies. I do not recall being taught the proper way to say a rosary until I was an adult. Thank you for helping us!

As a child, the catechism was an important instructional tool in our religious classes. In contrast, during the years I was raising my family, there was a departure from the focus on the study of the catechism. I believe that a return to catechises will have a great impact on our Catholic faithful.

I would love it if my Church renewed my spirit with thoughtful and informative Mass homilies. Please help our priests.

This sounds like a good way to teach a "captive audience" who attend Mass every Sunday what their basic beliefs should be. It would also be a great help to priests who may struggle with preparing their homilies. We do want and need to be taught PLEASE!!!!

Irish souls are literaly spiritaully starved of the Truths of their Catholic faith. The majority of Catholics in Ireland do not know their faith (one of the contributing factors being the non-sensical decision made in the early 1970s to withdraw the teaching of the faith (i.e the Catechism) from our Catholic School education system - in my opinion the greatest tragity / injustice imaginable to a catholic) -If it were not for the internet and the Catholic Media such as EWTN most of us would still be ignorant ... Now is the new springtime that Blessed John Paul II spoke of. Now is the time to reclaim our inheritage. Our Society, Government, Politicians, schools arent defending or safeguarding it. We have a duty-bound to learn, know and pass on our Faith won for us by the blood of the Lamb.. We need to be Taught!.....Let it Begin...
