Every priest should fulfill his duty by teaching Catholic doctrine in every homily.

We don't need anecdotes or homilies that just re-tell the scriptures but homilies that help us deepen our undestanding of the readings and the related teachings of the Church.

Catherine Dowson, St Jeanne Jugan, Leeds, United Kingdom

We have so much ground to make up. God bless you all in this endeavour.

I would love for the priest to be able to teach some more of the things in the Catechism or from other Church documents in Church. Obviously I don't think it would be a very good idea to just hop right into it because we would be talking about things that people would not know yet and may not be ready to hear. I think our Catholic schools should crack down on teaching the faith so that when the priest mentions something at mass everyone will understand what he is talking about. So far, I see that people do understand what the priest is talking about, but he does not go too far in depth. I think that this Ordinary Sunday Catechetical lectionary will be a great way to do this, but I also think we should teach more in school. So I am 100% for this.

I saw you guys on EWTN and have been looking for a movement that would help to "recatechize" the masses such as myself. I am a product of the 70's & 80's Catholic education system. In other words I was not taught very well my Catholic faith. I have been trying to catch up on my own with anything I can find. There is a lot out there but a formal universal type program is what I need and so many others in my situation need. I am excited and thankful for what you guys are trying to get going. Either way I am determined to learn our beautiful Catholic history and teachings! I want to be able to spread it to others with accurate knowledge and confidence. I didn't even know for the longest time that I was missing the majority of the Churches teachings. It is ridiculous to say that I went through my entire education at a private Catholic school and learned next to nothing about being a true Christian much less a properly Catechized Catholic. It was only after my children were born that I began to start thinking about my religion. It is sad to say that as a result of the way is was taught so also my children haven't gotten the religious education that I wish now I could have provided for them. I am trying and praying to make up for lost time with them by involving them in what our church provides. My son has already graduated high school and my daughter has had one year of great Catholic school education that is finally being taught. The price was steep but well worth it. I am hoping to get her back in again next school year.... hoping/planning/praying my finances get better. She has had to go back into our local public school system which is awful in soooo many ways. My son will start RCIA this fall and I was going to see if I could still attend with him even though technically I don't need too. I was wanting to go with him to learn all that I was not taught when I was young. So basically I caught you guys on Sunday Night Prime last last weekend and you were an answer to my prayers. So many people out there need to be taught our Catholic ways and a "mass" movement would get people together and inspired.

Sorry for the long message but I just needed to vent my anger at being cheated out of my Catholic inheritance and all of the lost years of literally being lost in the secular relative culture that is ruining so many lives and souls these days. Anyway I thank you with all my heart for what you are doing and I will pass on your info and website to who I can. I will pray for this cause and all of you who are bringing it to us. Bless you.

In Jesus Christ,
Angela Christine
