First of all, congratulations for this excellent idea of this website geared towards a new evangelization.
I am leading the RCIA and the Bible Study programs in my Parish, St. Bernard's Church through which I have experienced lack of knowledge must Catholics who come to the programs, have of our own faith. When people joint the programs and I ask them why are you a Catholic, why do you want to receive the Sacraments of the Catholic Church now, the general answers I receive are: Because my parents are Catholic, because my family traditionally has been Catholic, Because we want to baptize our children and we need to receive the Sacraments, to comply with the requirement of the Catholic Church.
Many of the people who joint the RCIA program are parents of teenagers or grown up children, who themselves, have not received the Sacraments.
Most of these people come occasionally to Sunday Mass and to the "mayor holiday's Mass", but do not have the slightest idea of the importance of the Mass, nor that we must have to attend Mass every Sunday.
I will share with everybody in the RCIA and in the Bible Study classes your website as a tool to continue knowing our faith more deeply and become a true disciples of Jesus Christ.
May the Good Lord richly bless all of you and infuse you his Holy Spirit for the good of His Church.
Reyna Lefkowitz.

When I was a Protestant missionary in Japan I started watching EWTN on the internet. Every program taught the truth of the Catholic faith, and I was greatly surprised; myths and misunderstandings were blown away. I discovered the Eucharist. Everything made sense, and I was convicted to join the church. I retired from the mission and returned to the US, attended RCIA, and came into the church at Easter Vigil, 2009. I found that many cradle Catholics do not know their faith very well. I am so passionate about the beauty and truth of the Catholic Church, and this method also made sense, so I will pass on this website. I watched you on EWTN on Sunday Night Prime, April 14 and 15. God bless you all, God bless our Pope Francis!

A wonderful idea! The homily's at our church are very much in need of a make over, they usually have nothing to do with the gospel we heard and everything to do with the latest football game or latest event. This has made it hard for us to continue to go to mass because we are not being fed the WORD of GOD. This is perfect for our parish and we desperately need this. I just want to thank all who are involved in bringing this about and will pray for it. I heard about it on E.W.T.N. my favorite t.v. station of all time.

This is a great idea. We need a universal teaching of the catholic church. I feel we need to better inform our children, and our adults, as to the true teachings of the church. Too many so called catholics believe we should just go with the changing times. The times may have changed, but God's law has not. It's hard to believe that people can't see the negative effect the changing times has had on our society.

As Father Mitch said on one of his shows, we need to better prepare our youth so when they go out to college, they can speak out to the truth of the Bible when it is attacked by theology teachers teaching their own twisted views of the truth. My son went to Fairfield University, a catholic college in CT. I thought this would help him to continue his good faith. We are a family who goes to all Sunday and holy day masses and even most of the Stations of the Cross every Friday night during lent. I taught my children to always pray and talk to the Lord. My son was continuing his good faith through his Sophmore year, but in his Junior year, he had a theology professor that taught that Jesus was "just a prophet, at best". By the time he was done with this class and to this day, he graduated May 2012, he not only questions Jesus and the catholic church, but God in general.

He no longer goes to mass or even prays. He still leads a good honest life and is good to others and is now a CPA at a good company. However, we know that just being a good person isn't enough. I pray for him always and say my rosary as often as I can. I can only hope he will come back to his faith before it's too late. Fairfield University should be ashamed of themselves for having a professor who basically is teaching atheisim as far as I'm concerned. I wish my son had more answers and/or questions to be able to argue this professors theories.

We definitely need this universal catechism to help the young and the adults.

I SAW THE TWO OF YOU ON EWTN's " SUNDAY NIGHT PRIME " WITH THE TWO CLERICS THAT WERE HOSTING THE PROGRAM . I THINK THE IDEA OF TEACHING CATECHISM THROUGH THE HOMILIES THE PRIESTS GIVES EACH WEEK IS A TRULY INSPIRED CONCEPT! I THINK IT IS A TERRIFIC WAY OF TEACHING THE PRECEPTS OF OUR FAITH TO THE LAITY SO THAT WE ARE IN A MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE AND BETTER EQUIPPED FRAME OF REFERENCE WHEN WE ARE DEFENDING OUR FAITH AND, HAVING A MORE CONFIDENT DEMEANOUR WHEN WE ARE " OUT THERE IN THE WORLD" EVANGELIZING THOSE DESTINED FOR SALVATION .
THANK YOU FOR YOUR THOUGHTS AND IDEAS CONCERNING THIS MATTER . I WILL TRY TO HELP IN ANY WAY I CAN ALBEIT THAT I AM PHYSICALLY DISABLED IN NUMEROUS WAYS. THE PEACE OF JESUS BE IN YOUR HEARTS AND LIVES ALWAYS .
SINCERELY,
LARRY LEWIS
