Our Church needs your voice! Join us in asking the Magisterium to grant us an Ordinary Sunday catechetical lectionary for use in every parish around the world. This initiative is in full communion with the Roman Catholic Church, and will always be obedient to the Magisterium. Simply add your thoughts or comments on this page. This seems like a great initiative -- I would suggest that the catechesis include an introduction to the Catechism - especially the significance of the organic unity of the faith -- that all four pillars interconnect and interact with one another.

I have heard some catechetical homilies that have concentrated on the First Pillar of the Catechism. These homilies were a good start, but it seems to me that it would be a great gift to the congregation for the homilist always to demonstrate the organic sense of our faith -- that faith is celebrated in liturgy and that our Life in Christ is a loving response to the great graces of faith and worship. All of us also need to be rooted in the basics of growing in prayer.

The very structure of the Catechism makes these connections extremely clear in its cross-references and footnotes.

In this way - the catechetical homilies would continue to inter-weave all aspects of the faith - including reference to the many saints who are quoted in the Catechism and are the living examples of the doctrine, worship, morality and prayer LIVED in concrete situations.

The time has come for this-- the fruit of much prayer for our shepherds to stay focused on what needs to be addressed from the pulpit to help us more perfectly live the Gospel in an increasingly pagan world that has forgotten that Jesus died for our sins and purchased our salvation at a very great price. Thank you!

Excellent idea . So few adults read the catechism.& so few people attend the special sessions that study Scripture & the catechism together. Many are ignorant of the Catholic Faith , nor able to defend it. Saw the show on EWTN.
