The importance of a powerful homily is immeasurable. Based on the Holy Scripture not conjecture or popular opinion. What encouraged me into the Catholic Pro-Life movement was a great Homily given by the late Monsignor Joseph K. Parks in December 1990 at St. Pat's church in Bayridge Brooklyn, my birthplace and baptism place. In that Homily, Monsignor Parks compared being Pro-Life in this world with Saint John the Baptist, and having his vigor and attitude. Remember as Scripture states, Our Lord Jesus Christ did not come into the world to join but divide. And with that Blessed Pope John Paul II stated in his encyclical The Gospel of Life, "An urgent worldwide chorus of prayer is urgently needed,... for the cause of life." We pray that travels past the Holy Vatican to Heaven and wewanttobetaught.com the true meaning of scripture and the fortitude, faith and action of our Lord/friend Christ Jesus.

This sounds great!!!! We need more teaching about the faith! I'm hoping this helps priests and doesn't burden them :)

It has been said that "the Church is the most misunderstood institution on earth, especially by Catholics". Can't think of anything more timely and necessary than this idea.
If it is true that "knowledge is power", then perhaps one reason the Body of Christ has seemed to lack power in the face of its enemies is that it has lacked knowledge.
